if someone calls you out on saying or doing some stupid hurtful shit
to take the position of “well since you werent calm and patient and nice to me while explaining why what i did hurt you, my beliefs are just going to calcify and i am right forever and i can say the n-word whenever i want!!”
People who just fucking assume that they have All Permissions w regard to you your body your ideas your space
N then it’s like On You to say “that’s not fucking alright what are you fucking doing” n they have the fucking gall to be put out about it and pissed at you
“Can’t you take a joke”
“Just trying to be nice what the fuck”
What the fuck are these people they are dangerous scum
privilege does not mean that the mayor will hold a parade in your honor and shake your hand just because you are white
privilege does not mean that as a child you are given a passphrase that will allow you to gain access to an exclusive boys-only menu at Wendy’s
privilege means:
-no one is…
I’ve talked to plenty of white people who do acknowledge their privilege, and plenty who deny privilege. I personally readily admit that I have many privileges. The thing is I’ve yet to see any PoC acknowledge their privilege.
Everyone who is living in a first world country and has access to the internet does no face starvation on a daily basis. They also have plenty of clean water to drink and are not living in a war zone.
I’m still waiting for a single PoC to acknowledge their first world privilege.
heyyyy i don’t get this line of logic and in fact i really fucking resent it, and also you’re not looking hard enough (probably really you’re not looking at all so you can better prop up this obfuscatory bullshit argument) if you haven’t seen any people of color discuss what privileges they benefit from
and what the fuck dude, like having ‘first world privilege’ means people ought to just be grateful for the dogshit they deal with?
just because things are worse elsewhere does not mean that we cannot also want them to be better here
just because a person has access to clean water here does not mean that it is illegitimate for them to want people to stop threatening them with violence because of their sexual orientation or race.
like what do you want, for every PoC in America to append “NOW I KNOW I AM TRULY BLESSED TO LIVE IN A PLACE WHERE THE VIOLENCE I FACE IS MORE OFTEN (BUT NOT ALWAYS, NOT NEARLY EVER ALWAYS) SYSTEMIC THAN OVERT, but“ to their stories about being endangered, threatened or humiliated?
i am saying that if you deny that privilege exists you are either an overt agent of evil or have a deep misunderstanding of what the fuck privilege means
privilege does not mean that the mayor will hold a parade in your honor and shake your hand just because you are white
privilege does not mean that as a child you are given a passphrase that will allow you to gain access to an exclusive boys-only menu at Wendy’s
privilege means:
-no one is going to tell you that you must behave in a certain way in order to avoid being sexually assaulted
-no one is going to scream the n-word or any other slur at you while you are walking down a street
-no one is going to tell you that it is YOUR responsibility to act in certain ways to avoid being assaulted or denigrated
-there is a whole bunch of awful degrading oppressive shit that you do not have to deal with in order to fucking exist and find what happiness you would like to find
Do you ever try to understand why people like me cannot get over the past, cannot forgive and forget? There is the Barclays Bank. The Barclay brothers are dead. The human beings they traded, the human beings who to them were only commodities, are dead. It should not have been that they came to the same end, and heaven is not enough of a reward for one or hell enough of a punishment for the other. People who think about these things believe that every bad deed, even every bad thought, carries with it its own retribution. So do you see the queer thing about people like me? Sometimes we hold your retribution.
It really upsets me that there are currently no well known female hip-hop artists in the game that have a real message, that spit intelligent verses that depict the harsh reality in which we all live. Guys like me have artists such as Nas and Common to look to as positive hip-hop role-models, females have no one.
One of the main reasons I dislike Nicki Minaj’s presences in hip-hop so much is that her grossly overrated watered down music casts a heavy shadow over all the other female hip-hop artists that actually have something real to say. Dessa is no exception. Alibi has more meaning in it than Nicki Minaj’s whole discography put together X10, but you’ll never hear any of it on the radio of course.

He spread port wine cheese across a strip of Fatback and called it sushi
His “hiphop label” is actually just a smokescreen for his internship with Rachel ray and Olive Garden
And besides that he is a fucking piece of shit scaredy cat bully motherfucker shit lord.
I cannot tell you how angry it makes me to hear people from North America tell me how much they love England, how beautiful England is, with its traditions. All they see us some frumpy, wrinkled-up person passing by in a carriage waving at a crowd. But what I see is the millions of people, of whom I am just one, made orphans: no motherland, no fatherland, no gods, no mounds of earth for holy ground, no excess of love which might lead sometimes to the things that an excess of love sometimes brings, and worst and most painful of all, no tongue. (For isn’t it odd that the only language I have in which to speak of this crime is the language of the criminal who committed the crime?)

whenever someone tries to claim authority for rightness based on memorizing a dictionary definition of a term like racism/misogyny etc from a dictionary published 50 yrs ago i immediately discredit them and cast them into darkness
